I am an Italian game designer and game design consultant living in Edinburgh (Scotland) game, level, and narrative design. I firmly believe in the power of language when talking about games. Indeed, by using a clear and consistent linguistic framework you will be able to understand Game Design for the ultimate purpose of creating better end-user experiences. I have also a software engineering background, I like to write, travel, and cook, and I am a game designer at Outplay, freelancer, consultant, and member of the staff of the Design Oriented discord community.

April 2020 – June 2020: Game Programmer, Versefera Studios. I improved the FPS controller and migrate the network code to Mirror.
September 2019 – December 2019: Demonstrator and Professor Assistant: C#, Java, and Software Engineering classes, Edinburgh Napier University.
May 2019 – September 2019: Student Intern Front-End Developer, Seebyte, Edinburgh. I renewed legacy code into modern design and patterns using C#, WPF, and MVVM.
July 2018 – October 2018: Student Intern – Support Engineer: Infographics UK Ltd, Edinburgh. I deliver technical assistance to customers, tested the companies solutions, and deliver consistent work in an Agile-Scrum environment.

Recent Game Projects
Level Design Dissertation (January 2020 – December 2020) – Title: “Level and Visual Design: Understanding Players’ Navigation in 3D Action-Adventure Video Sames”. The project is about understanding how design patterns and principles influence players’ choices in 3D levels. 2 Levels made with Unity and C# to perform A/B tests on 20 participants.
Level Design Workshop (July 2019 – December 2019) using Super Mario Maker 2 Level Engine, Design Oriented Community. Duties: understanding, evaluating, and creating levels alone and in a team.
Cyber Alex (January 2019 – June 2019) – I created the design and documentation of the game, as well as 4 levels and a boss fight featuring metroidvania and Megaman influences. 2D action side-scroller game made with C# and Unity. Platform: PC.
Eternal Bond (May 2019) – I developed a 3D top-down action game with Unity and C# in just a week. Platform: PC.
Dig It (January 2019 – May 2019) – I was the game designer and programmer of a team of 2 people. During the project, I learned more about C++, SFML, Box2D, and CMAKE. Student Team Project. Platform: PC.
Heavy Hearts (April 2018 – October 2018) – I designed and wrote a tabletop RPG for a competition called Game Chef.
2016–2020: BEng (Hons) Software Engineering, Edinburgh Napier University. Optional Games Development module took: Game Engineering and Design and Computer Graphics.
